Watcha Eating Weight Watchers Wednesday

Weight Loss Total to date: 24lbs

I've been flirting with 4-5-8 lbs of weight loss for like 3 weeks. Plateau city! Up 5 lbs one day, down 7lbs the next. I'm fully aware I could lose 5lbs just by going potty (wow) but its still super frustrating. Over the weekend I was teetering up by like 8 lbs and I had just had enough! I know I'm building muscle, BUT its still super frustrating to work out A LOT, and be crazy hungry because you are working out, so I eat. ENOUGH! Not enough eating...just enough with this song and dance.

Insert Green Monster Movement, 6 Day Express Diet Plan-Beachbody! I discovered the Green Monster drinks last week and had been slowly implementing them into my daily food intake while experimenting with recipes. Beachbody Slim in 6 is a workout that incorporates cardio and strength training. I used to do the dvd's 6 years ago, and I loved them. So here is the version of the drink I like the best:

                                                    Image from Green Monster Movement.com
2 Cups uncooked Spinach
1/2 cup Blueberries
1/2 Banana
1/3 Cup Almond Milk
1/3 Cup Atkins Chocolate Protein Shake
2 Ice Cubes (sometimes)
1 Tsp Flax Seed Oil

Weight Watcher Points end up being like 2-3 if that!
And HONESTLY its good. There's something about drinking something GREEN that just makes you feel good the whole day.

About 6 years ago when I had another major weight loss I went on this Beach Body Diet Plan on and off. And it WORKED. It messes with my metabolism, sort of a life support jolt. Back then I had lost 50lbs. BUT my goals are bigger this time around. AND what feels good is that I have 9 lbs to lose and I would be at what I weighed at my lowest 6 years ago, when I first met my husband. The bigger goals are for me to hit the weight I was in highschool, its not an unhealthy weight, or an unrealistic weight, its a weight I feel the most comfortable at in my own skin. And who knows maybe once I hit that weight I might try to train to get lower. Dream BIG people!

Here is an example of what I'm eating this week on the 6 Day Diet Plan:

Wake Up: 8oz water
Am Workout: 20-60 Minutes of Cardio
Water & Supplements
Breakfast: Green Monster Drink or 1 cup Cereal 1/2 Banana
Water 8oz
AM Snack: Apple cut up with 1 TBSP Peanut Butter
Water 8oz
Lunch-2 Cups Spinach Salad (see recipes below)
Water 8oz Supplements
PM Snack-Protein Bar or 2 Cups Light Popcorn or Protein Drink
Water 8oz
PM Workout-30-60 Minutes Cardio w/Strength Training
Dinner: 4 oz Meat, 2 Cups (Asparagus, Salad, really any leafy green veg) and 1 cup Fruit

This comes in like 10 points under my daily allowance of WW points. Do you know how gratifying that is!? So I'm on day 2 and it really feels like I eat ALL day, but its ALL good stuff. I'm only doing this for 6 days because working out twice a day and eating this often is A LOT of dedication with 2 kids, but its teaching me things about myself (like I LOVE SPINACH SALADS or IT IS TOTALLY POSSIBLE TO WORKOUT WITH YOUR KIDS)! Brooklyn did an entire 20 minute walk workout that was on our DVR and she loved every minute of it. Score! Teaching good habits early, triple score on the mama board!

Side note: I never talk about being on a diet or how I need to lose weight, I want my children to just eat GOOD and exercise because its OUR lifestyle.

In a few weeks I'll post some Before and After pics.

Spinach Salad Recipes:

Lemon Salmon Spinach Salad
1/2 a cucumber cut
2 Cups Spinach
1 Lemon Juices
Salt to taste
7 oz Lemon Herb Salmon (I buy them individually frozen and heat in micro before I eat lunch, 9 WW points)

Morningstar Turkey French Spinach Salad
2 Turkey/Veg Patties (5 WW pts)
1/2 Cucmber cut up
2 Cups Spinach
2 TBSP Fat Free French Dressing (1 WW point)

Here are some funny motivational quotes from Weight Watchers Online....

“The weight didn’t arrive from the Fat Fairy last night, and the Skinny Fairy isn’t coming tonight, either.” — Miscelena1.

“If we defend our habits, we have no intentions of breaking them.” — Judy P.

“No matter how slow you go, you’re still lapping the [person] sitting on the couch.” — Stephanie H.

This week's food discovery.

MorningStar Burgers

Yummy! No seriously, they are good.

WW Points-5 (2 Burgers)

Watcha Eating Weight Watchers Wednesday

New Purchase:

I tend to get a restless spirit if I'm stuck doing the same workout every day. So although I love my morning walks, I needed to step up my game a little bit. I found this bike trailer on Craiglist for $100. They tend to retail from $100 to $500. So I stole borrowed my stepfather's bike while they are in Europe, and have used it every day since. I hit 9 miles on Monday! I logged 23 miles on the bike last week. Product review time(Schwinn Bicycle Trailer)....it doesn't appear to be very comfortable for the kids, no lounge ability. The last couple times they have both gone to sleep, which can I just say is AWESOME! I get to amp up my exercise routine and I get some peace and quite outside. BUT they seem really uncomfortable with their heads bobbing away.

Weight Update:
-22lbs

I've absopositively hit a plateau. I can go up and down between 5-7lbs any given day. Super frustrating. Since slacking on my Weight Watcher Online accountability....this may be the culprit. SO enough already! I watched a vlog this morning that was exactly what I needed. MOTIVATION. These chicas lost 43 and 46 lbs. That's so awesome! Funny comment from the vlog..."like a toddler and a half", hahaha. I think the coolest part for me will be when I can say I've lost the weight of BOTH my kids. Which at current would be about 50lbs! Here are the links to Katie and Susan's blogs. I am a loyal follower of both.

Recently I've been pretty fascinating with trying to figure out what skinny people eat( I haven't found any posts like this on the above chicas blogs yet). Eating is obviously my problem area. And I know I've narrowed it down to my night time eating throughout this weight loss process. And the truth is, yes sometimes I'm craving something sweet, BUT most of the time I'm BORED. So I've gathered a couple examples.

Here is Cassie @ Hisugarplum. First of all, LOVE, LOVE her. She has ALWAYS responded to my questions in her comments, and she answered my stalkerish question about what her skinny ass eats!! I didn't ask her to share with the intention of blogging about it, but because it helped me so much I thought I'd share...hope she doesn't mind? Cassie's design style is amazing, and she's super gorgeous, and is fantastic fashionista...go check her blog out, hurry go now!!! Check out her amazing back and arms!

Daily Bread: Breakfast: nutrigrian waffle with a little peanut butter, cup of skim milk
Lunch: Lean Cuisine of some sort

Watcha Eatin Weight Watchers Wednesday

New food product find, AND no I do not get paid by Healthy Choice! I just love their stuff. Super easy, super tasty, and within the points/calories I want to hit in a day. That being said I gotta be honest and say I no longer track my points on Weight Watchers Online nor do I count my calories. I was a loyal counter for a few months and have now learned a lot more about food. Enough that I know when I need to do an extra mile or not. So the only thing I track is my activity. Last week's WEWWW I posted about how I needed to amp up my get slim game, so I challenged my self to complete 25 miles (running/walking) a week.

Week 1: 11 miles
Week 2 (only into Tuesday): already 11.3 miles

A key factor...workout on the weekends. I start my week on Sundays, and it just gives me that boost for my numbers in the week.

What I ate Tuesday & Activity:
Breakfast: shared a bowl of Honey Smacks with the kids (I'm slightly, scratch that, insanely obsessed with cereal)

Walked 3.5 miles
Lunch: Healthy Choice Chicken Tortilla and Green Giant's Just For One Broccoli Cheese Sauce

Snack: 4 graham crackers plain today (but cinnamon are like heaven in my mouth)
Dinner: Homemade Grilled chicken, Corn, and Cheesy Bacon Mashed Potatoes.
Treadmill 3 Miles (.4 of which I ran...never thought I could make it that long...and I'll just keep pushing until I can run miles at a time!)

What I've learned...eat what you want some days, limiting alcohol definitely helps, but this mama needs that glass of wine on occasion! Don't be hard on yourself. Just keep at it, AND be active.

Weight Loss to date: -23lbs

My MIL and I have an October challenge of -30lbs, we've totally got that under wraps! With each lower number on the scale its more and more motivation....as I eat chips and salsa, late at night! MIL's weight loss to date 24lbs!!!! I love having a partner in crime with this get slim, be healthier, way of life.

Watcha Eatin Weight Watchers Wednesday-Randoms

Lets get down to the stats: -19 lbs.

All my baby weight has come and gone, now I'm focusing on the 'wedding weight'. If you're wondering what 'wedding weight' is....its the 10-20lbs that woman tend to gain when they get married, much like the 'freshman 15'.

So I 've amped up my workout regime to knock 10lbs out of the park this month. (25 miles a week)  I've done 9 miles so far this week.

Tonight I tried on these jeans...AND they fit! Now, they were a little snug, but I buttoned them up!

Recipe of the week:
This recipe has been a staple in my Granny Green's household, passed down to my mom, and now both my sister-in-law and I make it for almost any big occasion. It occurred to me the other day...I should post this, its super easy, tasty, and can be pretty healthy.

Pasta Salad:
1-1 1/2lb pasta (I used a spiral noodle with 4 servings of vegetables in the noodles and the color added an extra zing for presentation)..original recipe calls for spaghetti noodles.
1 package grape tomatoes (sliced)
1 can black olives
1 cucumber (sliced into small pieces)
Salad Seasoning (shake to taste)
1 bottle Italian Dressing
1 green pepper

Cook pasta. Slice and dice vegetables. Pour half bottle of Italian dressing in bowl with sliced vegetables to marinate. Combine noodles and veggie mix with shakes of salad seasoning to taste. Add the remainder of the Italian dressing (use the lite version for fewer calories).

I've had a rough week this week, from locking myself and the kids out of the house...to normal needy teething from my 1 year old and meltdowns with my 2 year old! Mama needs a change of scene. Much needed family getaway this weekend! Here's to hoping I remember patience, love, kindness, strength, faith, and did I say patience! Its quiet in the house and I have a date with my DVR. Good night!

Watcha Eatin Weight Watchers Wednesday-Special Edition

My previous posts about diet products have been an attempt to share what has been working with my diet. This week I've decided to dig deeper. Here are some vulnerable, gasping, truths. No I'm not that ballsy to share my weight yet....but we can talk other #s!!! So here's the real deal...to my standards I have been anywhere from 20 to 60 lbs overweight since graduating high school at any given time throughout my ENTIRE 20's. WHAT'S completely ridiculous is that even in high school I thought I was "bigger" than everyone else. Looking back I would kill for that bikini wearing body! In hindsight I probably was 'bigger' only because I'm pretty tall-5'8, and NOT stick thin. Which I'm completely fine with, I like my curves! I was an athlete growing up and was always in shape. After high school I had this crazy idea that I would just stay in shape without the activity. Well my 20's hit and I was in college and gained the typical 'freshman 15' and then it just kept going from there. I was NOT active at all. Working a lot to pay for books and studying, that's it.

Lets dig deeper shall we...I was also in a horrible relationship from the age of 16-22. What a waste, those are the formative, independent, soul searching years and I wasted them on a guy who was insanely jealous and insecure. Little factoid I learned throughout that journey, the guys who accuse you of cheating are ALWAYS the ones who are actually cheating on YOU. I shared this because I think not only was I not active, but I was also hiding. Hiding from ANY attention from other guys and just plain hiding because I have been misunderstood shy my whole life! I say misunderstood because most shy people get a snotty, stuck up, stick in the mud reputation. For the most part I have overcome my shyness throughout the years, and my boisterous, life of the party husband has definitely helped me in the shy department. So what better way to hide than behind a good 60lbs. Because when you hide behind weight you don't have to make the hard choice to break up with the awful boyfriend for a kinder cuter guy.

Weight Loss to date: -17 lbs

32 more lbs to go to reach high school weight

So here are some pics to give some visual: (Isn't it so irritating that when you look at pics, you instantly go to the parts about yourself that you have disliked your whole life).

I was a Junior in high school. Probably one of the LAST times I wore a bikini. Probably a size 10-12 in this photo.

Jump to Age 24 (just recently engaged, like 2 days before this pic, on a Baccalaureate trip to Chicago)
I don't hate this pic. These jeans are considered my threshold skinny jeans. Maybe 15-20 lbs more than the high school pic.

Wedding Day 2006
Gained about 15lbs from engagement time to wedding day. No joke, very nervous I wouldn't fit in the dress!

2 Months after giving birth to my first babe. Uggh this pic is the worst! New Years Eve 2009

Feeling a little better after a decent weight loss over the Summer of 2009.
Loved this trip...to Grand Haven...thinking of going back in the next month.
Brooklyn's first sand experience.

Pregnant, ok uuuuber pregnant with Bugsy. Here's the crazy part, what I weighed in this pic is not the heaviest I've been throughout my 20's. I gained the normal amount with both pregnancies, literally 33lbs with both babes.

This picture tells such a story...it shows my joy for my kids, but its so clear I'm HIDING.

A week after giving birth to my second babe.

I have NO current pics because I'm never in front of the camera, always the one taking the pictures. But my current weight is give or take a pound of what I was on my wedding day. I'm going to STOP hiding and start getting in front of the camera with weekly What I Wore pictures.

Daily diet:
7:00am-Breakfast Options: 1 cup of Cereal, Chobani Yogurt, or just a banana.

11:00am-Lunch Options: Healthy Choice Steamer, salad concoction from my fridge, or somethin while we are out and about.

3:00pm-Snack Options: V8 juice, cheese chunk, fruit, or veggie

6:00pm-Dinner (here's where the badness begins) I usually eat whatever, AND then don't stop. I'm not saying I eat bags of potato chips, but I stay up SO late and get bored. I have noticed on the days where I don't eat at night the scale is a much nicer sight the next day! Ding Ding!

Here's what I've eaten today: 9:00am-banana, pineapple, and watermelon
                                             1:00pm-Sbarro pizza slice & breadstick
                                              3:00pm-Nonfat Carmel Machiatto Iced

                                              17 WW Points used already

AND my weakness is sweet stuff like chocolate and wine. Forget about it if its a combo like my Grand Traverse Sweet Red Wine!!!! You can't just have one glass of that yummy goodness.

OK since I've been turned onto this concept of 30 before 30, to which I will share later this week....on that ever so important list of 'things to do before your 30'....(I of course will have my own spin because 30 is only about 5+ months away) 31 things to do before I'm 31! LOSE WEIGHT! A LOT OF WEIGHT!

1. Lose 50+ lbs (only 33 to go)

I WILL CONQUER THIS WEIGHT ISSUE!! I WILL NO LONGER HIDE BEHIND THE CAMERA! I WILL NO LONGER BE A SHADOW OF WHO I AM INSIDE.

Thanks to whoever continued to read my vulnerable truths. Phew that was a long one!
