Book Review-Room, The Help, 1000 Gifts

I just read Room by Emma Donoghue. Rating 2 out of 5. I found it clever that the book was written from the perspective of the 5 year old in the story, but also quite irritating. Too many details that I wanted to just skip thru. Ok I get it, he's never seen the outside world before, but enough of all the mundane information. Another thing that I didn't understand was the family of the mother in the story...on numerous occasions they put the child in situations that were overwhelming and potentially harmful with no consideration for how it may effect the boy. Not a fan of this book. After reading this book I absolutely appreciated my life, but was felt wanting to know more about the struggles the mother was going thru towards the end of the book, not just the boy.

Currently Reading:

The Help by Kathryn Stockett. Rating 5 out of 5...and I've only read about 150 pages! Most of the books I read are on my Ipad Nook app, and I just can't put this one down. Its super interesting and love that its from the perspective of so many different women. This book has been made into a movie and as soon as I get done reading it, I have to go watch, just to see the characters come to life. I just love when I find a book I can't out down. I find myself relating to all of the characters. Great book.

Still reading one thousand gifts by Ann Voskamp. Rating 5 out of 5. On Chapter 6 and I find myself needing to take my time reading this book. I've thought a number of times to start the book over to take notes, highlight, and really embody all the messages. This is a life changer for sure. In fact, I think tonight I will start this book over and get myself a notepad to take notes and continue with my 1000 gifts list.
